Knights Valley A wild and storied landscape where mountain meets valley, shaping wines of character, structure, and quiet intensity.
Tucked between Napa Valley and Sonoma County, Knights Valley is a place defined by contrast, history, and untamed beauty. It is here that Linked Vineyards is rooted, farmed, and inspired, a landscape we are proud to call home.
Knights Valley is one of Northern California’s most distinctive growing regions, a dramatic corridor that stretches between the Mayacamas Mountains and the base of Mount St. Helena. Shaped by ancient volcanic forces and cooled by coastal influences, the valley offers a rare combination of structure and vitality, producing wines of depth, energy, and age-worthy character.
Long before vines were planted, this land carried a different kind of legacy. Named after Thomas Knight, an early settler who established a homestead here in the mid-1800s, the valley has always been defined by independence and rugged possibility. Its remote nature, sitting just beyond the boundaries of Napa Valley yet deeply connected to its spirit, has preserved a sense of authenticity that is increasingly rare.
Today, Knights Valley remains one of California’s most quietly revered appellations. Its elevations, exposures, and diverse soils create an environment where grapes develop slowly and evenly, building concentration while retaining natural balance. Warm days are tempered by cooling influences that move through the valley, allowing for extended ripening and complexity without excess.
For Linked Vineyards, this is more than a place on a map. It is the foundation of everything we do. Farming here requires intention and respect, listening closely to the land and responding to each vintage with care. The vineyard is not forced into expression, but guided, allowing the site to speak with clarity and consistency year after year.
The wines that emerge from Knights Valley reflect this relationship. They carry a sense of place that is both powerful and composed, structured yet refined, expressive without excess. There is a quiet confidence to the fruit, a natural balance that comes from a landscape that has always demanded patience and rewarded those willing to understand it.
This is why we farm here. This is why we call it home.
"Knights Valley has a way of revealing itself slowly. The more time you spend here, the more you understand that the land is doing the work, we are simply here to listen."
